New Year’s Eve 2026 falls on a Thursday, and in Marbella the question comes up early: where do we have dinner before the twelve grapes? Two restaurants of the Casanis Group have published their menus for the night of 31 December: a gala dinner at Nota Blu New Brasserie on the Golden Mile and a more intimate one at Casanis Bistrot in the Old Town. The Vault Marbella Club books both by WhatsApp. Here is what each menu includes, what it costs, how the night runs and how to choose.

Nota Blu New Brasserie: the gala dinner on the Golden Mile

Nota Blu is the Casanis Group’s contemporary brasserie on the Golden Mile, opened in 2022: French cooking with a Mediterranean accent, a lounge soundtrack and the piano club Le Jade tucked inside. Its New Year’s Eve menu is the most lavish of the season. Four appetizers set the tone (a lobster cappuccino, a savoury pastry filled with foie gras, a wagyu and caviar focaccia and a red shrimp tartare tartlet with caviar), followed by white roast beef with pickles. The mains are Chilean sea bass with a yuzu meunière sauce and Bresse chicken with truffles, and dinner closes with a three-chocolate cake.

Each guest has half a bottle of Ruinart Champagne, with water, soft drinks, beer and coffee included. At midnight the room eats the twelve lucky grapes, the cotillón comes out and live music carries the party into 2027. The price is 625€ per person. See the Nota Blu New Year’s Eve menu →

Casanis Bistrot: New Year’s Eve in the Old Town

Casanis Bistrot is where the Casanis Group began in 2003: a French bistro in a 150-year-old townhouse on Calle Ancha, with a candlelit patio a few minutes’ walk from Plaza de los Naranjos. Its New Year’s Eve menu is shorter and more intimate. Three starters (marinated salmon, scrambled eggs with caviar and a green bean salad with sautéed foie gras) lead to a lobster nage and a chicken suprême with morel mushrooms, with a chocolate marquise for dessert.

Half a bottle of Champagne per guest is included, along with water, soft drinks and beer, and the twelve grapes and the cotillón mark midnight. At 275€ per person it is the more accessible of the two, and the Old Town lanes outside are one of the prettiest places in Marbella to step out after the chimes. Which one should you choose?

  • Nota Blu for a big-night gala: caviar and lobster from the first bite, Ruinart at the table, live music at midnight and the glamour of the Golden Mile.
  • Casanis Bistrot for a candlelit dinner as a couple or with friends, classic French cooking and a walk through the Old Town afterwards.
  • Celebrating in Madrid? Nota Blu Madrid serves the same gala menu for 400€ per person: read our New Year’s Eve guide to Nota Blu Madrid.

Upgrading to Dom Pérignon

Both restaurants let you swap the included bottle for Dom Pérignon. At Nota Blu, half a bottle of Dom Pérignon per guest adds 165€ (790€ per person in total) and half a bottle of Dom Pérignon Vintage Rosé adds 250€ (875€). At Casanis Bistrot, the Dom Pérignon upgrade adds 125€ (400€ per person). The upgrades are priced per person; tell us when you book which option your table wants.

How the night runs

New Year’s Eve in Spain has its own rhythm. Dinner is long and unhurried; just before midnight everyone gets ready with twelve grapes, and on each of the twelve chimes you eat one: the tradition of las doce uvas de la suerte. Then come the toasts, the cotillón (party hats, streamers and noisemakers) and the party. Both menus include the grapes and the cotillón, so all you need to bring is your appetite. The restaurant confirms the seating time when you book. If the grapes are new to you, read our guide to the twelve grapes and other Spanish New Year’s Eve traditions.

What to wear

New Year’s Eve is the most dressed-up night of the year in Marbella. Nota Blu’s everyday dress code is smart elegant, and on the 31st most guests go further: a suit or a jacket for men, a cocktail or evening dress for women. The Bistrot is a little more relaxed, but smart is still the rule. Gold, sequins and a touch of red (Spaniards wear red underwear on 31 December for luck) all fit the night. More ideas in our Marbella dress code guide.

Planning the rest of the night

Getting there and back. Taxis are in high demand in Marbella after midnight on New Year’s Eve, so if you are staying outside town, arrange your car in advance (see our guide to luxury car rental in Marbella). Nota Blu is on the Golden Mile, between Marbella and Puerto Banús; Casanis Bistrot is in the Old Town, a short walk from the centre.

Late-December weather. Marbella’s winter is mild: days usually reach 16–18°C and nights drop to around 8–10°C, so bring a jacket or a wrap for the walk after dinner.

New Year’s Day. 1 January is a public holiday in Spain. Many restaurants open for a late lunch, and a walk along the seafront promenade is a classic way to start the year in the winter sun.

How to book your New Year’s Eve table

Choose the restaurant and the menu on the venue page and send us a WhatsApp with the number of guests. The Vault Marbella Club confirms availability, the seating time, the Champagne upgrade and any dietary requirements directly with the restaurant. New Year’s Eve is the busiest night of the winter and tables are limited, so the earlier you write, the wider the choice. Planning the rest of December too? See the Christmas menus 2026.
